GATEWAY is a phygital experience created by Arturo Tedeschi on the occasion of METAWASTE and RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC 2022 - directed by Rossana Orlandi - and part of Fuorisalone Milano 2022. Through the interaction between an “augmented” installation and a digital platform, GATEWAY aims to raise awareness and educate users on Web 3.0 and NFTs, promoting active participation and understanding of related processes (crypto wallet, gas fee, minting, drop). GATEWAY is a voxel-based 3D printed installation, augmented through a generative projection mapping3D-printed that adds a digital skin over the physical object. Visitors can become co-creators of the artwork through a mechanism typical of the NFT world, where modules of the 3D printed sculpture have a digital twin collectible in the form of a non-fungible token.

Humap investigated the different blockchain networks to choose the more sustainable cryptocurrency.

It is possible to be an environmentally-conscious NFT collector by understanding the differences between the blockchains and by using NFT marketplaces that support more sustainable networks!

For the Gateway experience, we used Tezos and Objkt marketplace.

We created interactive storytelling to illustrate the research and to visualize the electricity consumption and related carbon footprint of different cryptocurrencies.

We used as a source of our DataViz the report made in January 2022 by the CCRI.
